The Torch Trophy Trust is a charitable organisation, whose main aim is to encourage voluntary work in sport and other related outdoor activities within local communities.

The Torch Trophy Trust not only presents awards, but is also actively engaged in encouraging and helping voluntary workers at club level. The Trust operates a bursary scheme, called the Torch Trophy Trust Bursaries. We are small, but, the effect of what we do can be large for those involved. If you support our work, we thank you for that. The Torch Trophy Trust welcomes any donations that individuals or organisations are able to make in order to continue its work in encouraging sports' volunteers.

Torch Trophy Trust Awards – 2009

Following its Annual General Meeting on 4th June 2009 the Trust has invited Governing Bodies of Sport to submit nominations for this year's Awards.

The Awards will be held at The Army and Navy Club on the evening of Monday 16th November and the Guest of Honour will be HRH The Duchess of Gloucester.

46th Annual Torch Trophy Trust Awards

The 46th Annual Torch Trophy Trust Awards were held at The Army and Navy Club, Pall Mall, London, on Wednesday 19th November 2008, when His Royal Highness The Earl of Wessex was the Guest of Honour. 18 Trophies and Certificates were presented and the details of the individuals are to be seen please click here and scroll down to the 2007 Awards.

BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards 2008 – ‘Lifetime Achievement Award'

The Trust's President, Sir Bobby Charlton, received the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award' at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award in December 2008, recognition that was richly deserved.

2012 OLYMPIC GAMES – YOUNG VOLUNTEER

The Trust is continuing the development of this project, in conjunction with Sports Leaders UK, to assist young volunteers in the London Boroughs involved in the 2012 Olympic Games. The Trust is indebted to Sports Leaders UK for their valuable contribution and commitment to the Project.
